At the Little Sasso Piatto Tower in the Sassolungo Group; a very difficult alpine North Face Route with some cracks and corners in the upper part. Wonderful, but also very difficult route.
First ascent: September 30 th and October 1 st 2003 with Markus Kostner.
Height of the tower: about 450 m.
                              Rope pitches: 15
Grade of difficulty: upper 7 th
Most parts of the rock are marked.
Whenever I ran through the “Cunfinböden” I saw this tower with all its cracks and corners in the yellow area, but I had never thought that it would be so wonderful climbing this rock. The Ladin name “Via dla Fënes” means “Route of the Wives”. We dedicated this route to our wives Ingrid and Silke because they believe in what we do.
Descent: through the “ Normal Route ” to the east, with a long passage to abseil first and then by feet over a shelf to the Rifugio Vicenz.
